How long are the HBS Round Two papers?

For 2027 entry the school publishes a 60 minute English paper and a 50 minute Maths paper, both written. Round Two is on Tuesday 6 October 2026.

Are there Henrietta Barnett Round Two past papers?

No. The school says it releases no past papers or Round Two resources and gives no further detail about the content or marking. Practise with original written tasks at the published lengths.

What level is HBS Round Two?

The 2027-28 admissions policy says Round Two tests literacy and numeracy appropriate to Key Stage 2.

What should she do the day before Round Two?

Keep it light: reread one answer she rewrote after marking, pack pencils and a watch, and sleep early. A full timed paper the day before leaves no time to learn from it.

  1. The plan counts the days from today to the published Round Two date and places sessions only on the days you pick, never longer than the time you give.
  2. It opens with a timed paper in the weaker subject, marks it against the model answers in the next session, then practises the one skill that cost most, before the other paper.
  3. The weaker area comes from the written maths question when it is missed, otherwise from the part you say felt harder.
  4. The day before Round Two is kept light, whatever days you pick.

Uncertainty and limits

  • HBS releases no Round Two past papers or mark schemes, so the practice papers are our own reviewed originals written to the published paper lengths.
  • One question is a small sample: it shows where to start, not a full diagnosis.
